For Immediate Release Local Partnership with Delawana Inn Spa & Conference Resort Expands
Educational Reach Honey Harbour, Georgian Bay, Ontario... June 13, 2002. The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre in Midland is pleased to announce a newly formed partnership to establish a fun filled nature education and environmental program for families visiting Delawana Inn Spa & Conference Resort this Summer. The programs are offered as part of the Social and Recreation Programming starting, June 25th through to September 2nd.
Experienced Wye Marsh naturalists will be on site at the Delawana six days a week with a series of 22 different two-hour experiential activities that will not only inspire, but educate and entertain the entire family. A variety of programs such as Wet and Scaly, Nature at Night, Forest Wonders, Orienteering, as well as an Adult Evening Kayak, and Nature Photography will highlight the family vacation.
Laurie Schutt, Manager at the Centre says, "The Friends of the Wye Marsh are very excited about this new partnership as it will expand the reach of our environmental education out reach program Wye Marsh Comes To You."
The Delawana Inn Spa & Conference Resort will be enhancing their Royal Island hiking trails to incorporate the natural history of the Southern Georgian Bay region.
Schutt adds, "This is an excellent opportunity for the guests at the Delawana to understand the natural beauty and the different ecosystems with expert naturalists.
Guests at the Delawana can extend their experience by visiting the Wye Marsh and experience the indigenous wetlands and wildlife, including the magnificent Trumpeter Swans either by hiking or canoeing along the trails, berms and channels. Families staying at the Inn will receive one adult and child pass to visit the Centre.
Programs will run rain or shine, with a backup indoor program in case of severe weather.
