A comprehensive look at resorts was written for the Summer Vacation
& Leisure Supplement. The story talks about children's programs
with tips for finding the best in kid's stuff . Excerpts about Delawana
follow:
The Delawana Inn Spa & Conference Resort in Honey
Harbour has for this season built a brand new playground and
added a giant climbing ladder and high wire to its adventure course.
It has also started up a new nature-education program with the
Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, says social director Gary Don.
To keep the kids from getting bored, activities often change
frequently. At the Delawana, for instance, a daily schedule that
repeats weekly offers different activities virtually every hour,
Mr. Don says. The more you can offer kids and adults, the more
popular a vacation spot you will be.
At most resorts, your kids will be in good hands. Delawana, which
offer programs for five different age groups from three through
13-plus-has a 5:1 ratio of kids to staff. All are trained in first
aid and CPR.
Many resorts also offer supervised care for infants in fully
equipped nurseries. Delawana, for instance, offers day care for
kids up to age two under the watchful eyes of five staff trained
in early childhood education.
