Georgian
Bay, Ontario's 6th Great Lake, is one of the most diverse fish
habitats in the Province. In the Recreational Fishing Regulations
summary, Georgian Bay and the area
of Georgian Bay around Honey Harbour
is classified as Fishing
Division 16 on Central Ontario (Map C). The species listed
include, Walleye & Sauger, Largemouth and Small mouth Bass,
Northern Pike, Muskellunge (Musky), Yellow Perch, Crappie, Brook
Trout, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Splake, Pacific Salmon
(Chinook, Coho, and Pink Salmon), Atlantic Salmon, Whitefish, Sturgeon
(Delawana's Mascot is Stella the Sturgeon),
and Channel Catfish.
Note: Georgian
Bay near the mouth of 12-Mile Bay is a fish sanctuary and is
closed all year. Make yourself familiar with the Ministry
of Natural Resources Fishing Regulations restrictions, and exceptions.
