1. When is Check in and check out?

Check in begins at 4:00pm & Check out ends 11:00am

2. What is included in the package?

Summer packages include two (2) meals daily, accommodations, full use of resort facilities, supervised social programs, supervised day care, supervised Kid's Camp and V.I.K. Kid's Club, pontoon cruises daily, evening entertainment, and Family Nature Programs. Spring packages include three (3) meals daily, accommodations; full use of resort facilities and daily pontoon cruises.  You will receive complimentary green fees on our 9-hole pitch and putt as well as Hike Bike and Cruise that includes box lunch and cruise to Georgian Bay Islands National Park with complimentary use of mountain bikes.

3. What is included in the room?

Each room will have a mini sized fridge, air conditioning, heating, television and telephone. All rooms have an alarm clock and wake up calls can be arranged at the front desk. Click here for additional accommodation descriptions.

4. What do we have to bring?

Each room has a mini size fridge; therefore you may want to bring some snacks or drinks. Each room offers housekeeping services daily.  House rentals do not have housekeeping everyday, just on Tuesday and Thursday. Beach towels can be signed out from the Front Desk, the Social Kiosk (summer only) and at the North Beach (summer only). Other items not included in the room but available at front desk are hair dryers, irons and ironing boards. Coffee and tea is available 24/7 in our main lodge.  Other items you may wish to bring, include hats, bathing suits, sunscreen, bug repellent and maybe a small backpack or bag for children's items for the day.

5. Is baby-sitting available in the evening?

Evening babysitting must be arranged through front desk by 4:00pm on a sign up basis.   There is an $10.00 charge per hour for the first 2 children and an additional $5.00 per child/hour after that.  Baby-sitting is not available during the day, however the kids camp and day care operate daily from 10:00am-5:00pm Monday through Saturday with an evening program from 7:00 - 8:30pm

6. What kind of evening entertainment do you have?

We have family entertainment in the evening starting at 8:30 PM. We have a number of different shows ranging from magicians, hypnotists, astronomy, drum circles and comedians. Sundays we have an Orientation show to inform you of all the information you need to know during your stay with us.

7. Can I do laundry there?

We do have coin operated washers and dryers for guests to use. Most house accommodation are equipped with a washer and dryer.

8. What is your beach like?

Our North Beach area offers a shallow sandy beach area for swimming that is available to our guests. Being  on Georgian Bay, it is usually warm enough for swimming by mid June through September.   Beach areas are also available on Royal Island immediately across from the Delawana docks.

9. Do you have a pool?

We do have an outdoor heated pool, which is heated from mid May to mid October. In the Spring and Fall, when the nights are cooler, the pool is kept a little cooler. There is also a kiddy pool, located near the main pool area. There is also a children's splash pad area, however rubberized water shoes are recommended for the surface which can be slippery when wet.

10. Can we bring personal watercrafts and boats?

We do have docking space available for personal watercrafts and boats. There are a number of marinas in the area, for launching. If you are docking your watercraft or boat please inform the Front Desk. They will give you a tag to place on your watercraft so we know who it belongs to.

11. Is there fishing in your area?

Georgian Bay is a great place for fishing and we do rent fishing boats. Many of our guests fish right off our docks.   Early in the morning or late in the evening is the best time for fishing in the Georgian Bay waters. However if you are over the age of 18, you will be required to have a license. If you do not have a license, you can purchase one at the local grocery/variety store. We also have family fishing weekends available.

12. If lunch is not included, where do we have lunch?

Between late June to early September, the Mackinaw restaurant is open from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. The Mackinaw restaurant is located near our pool and has many lunch items on the menu for all ages.

13. Do you provide cribs for infants?

We do provide playpens upon request.  If you wish to have one set up in advance please inform the agent at the time of your booking.

14. What taxes and service charges are added to the package?

After July 1 2010, Ontario Sales Tax and Federal Goods and Service Tax will be replaced by the Harmonized Sales Tax. A 12% hotel service charge also applies to all packages.

15. What is the 12% service charge for?

The service charge is shared by employees in the form of bonuses and wages. However should you wish to reward staff for outstanding service, please do so at your discretion. The staff will appreciate tipping on cash purchases such as drinks or extra meals

16. Are you wheelchair accessible?

Our Main Lodge has 2 wheelchair lifts that can provide access to all levels of the building. If there is someone in your family with disability issues we recommend  speaking to one of our reservation agents so they may assist you in choosing the most comfortable room to accommodate your needs.

17. How far is it from Toronto to the Delawana Inn?

Delawana Inn is located 90 minutes north of Toronto via Highway 400. Find directions to our location by viewing our map.

18. What is the average temperature in Honey Harbour?

During the summer months the temperature generally ranges from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius or 70 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

19. Where are the different accommodations located?

We have a number of different styles of rooms spread throughout the property. Each style is different from each other and have different attributes. View the property map.

20. What is the Children's Program like?

We have daycare, children and teen programs that run everyday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Children are grouped according to age, for example 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and so on. Lunch is provided for children under the age of 12 as part of our camp program. All children not in the camp program should be accompanied by an adult during lunch time. There are evening programs as well that include, scavenger hunts, campfires and pizza & hotdog parties. All children participating in the camp program must be potty trained.

21. Can I take my children out of the program during the day?

During the day parents can sign children in and out of the program through the program counselor.  A full camp schedule will be given upon kids camp registration.

22. What are the bugs like?

As the bug population is based on Mother Nature, we can only suggest to bring bug repellent. The bug population usually will decrease as the summer goes on. Being on the Eastern shore of Georgian bay, the bugs are not nearly as bad as many other destinations North of Toronto. The worst time of day for bugs is about one hour at sunset.

23. Is there anywhere to buy groceries or other items?

In Honey Harbour you will find a Liquor and Beer store, grocery store, Bakery, Post office and a few clothing and gift stores. Be sure to visit the Vacation Store located right at the Delawana Inn. Midland, Ontario is about a 30 minute drive from the resort and has a selection of stores, malls and pharmacies
