LOVE the Delawana Inn!

Dear Delawana Friends,

Well, you've done it again! Our second summer vacation up at the Del has confirmed it - we LOVE the Delawana Inn! We had an absolutely wonderful time up on Georgian Bay. My husband and I are true believers in the beauty of our own country. Why travel half way around the world, when we can experience outstanding hospitality and scenery in our own backyard.

I knew it was going to be an incredible vacation when we attended the Sunday night 'Meet the Staff' show. Really, who doesn't love to be 'clapped in' by the staff. The Amazing Race theme was out of this world. Our two boys were absolutely hooked. What a fantastic way to show us all that the Del has to offer. Ingenious! Well done. And Eric, you do 'take my breath away...' Very funny stuff!

Our two sons (David - 11 and Adam - 6) loved the camp again this year. A huge thanks to Chris for organizing an amazing schedule of activities! Well done. Sophia, Nick, Mark and Norah, you were awesome camp leaders - our youngest son, Adam even fashioned his hair after Mark!! Very impressed! It was wonderful to see 'old friends' like Jess, Ethan, Mike, Chris, and THANK GOD, Gary!! Your warmth and hospitality, as well as, your crazy enthusiasm make the Del our kind of resort.

Thank you Byron for the awesome Banana Boating ride for the boys and their friends. You ROCK!! From the sounds of the hoots and laughter IN the boat, I think we may have had more fun watching them! What a thrill. Thank you, Whitney for taking us on a spectacular Wave Runner Safari. The scenery and tour were outstanding. You really gave us a wonderful experience. We loved it so much that we left a little bit of us in Beausoliel Bay (David's glasses!!) Our daily pontoon cruises were fantastic (we never tire of this wonderfully relaxing experience). Thank you Matt for the great stories and information about the area.

How can we forget our excellent picnic on Beausoleil Island. I really think it was the one of the nicest experiences we have ever had at the Del. As a couple, we loved the walking tour (thanks Peter and Jason), the alone time on the beach and the delicious barbeque lunch (thanks Jess - yummy!!) What a beautiful time we had.

I have to say, even on one rainy afternoon, our spirits could not have been dampened because we spent our time in the Boathouse (love this place!). Shooting pool, playing ping pong and shuffle board, and listening to the jute box - what a swell way to spend an afternoon.

Travis, you were amazing. Our boys learned so much from you (they especially loved the day that the hog nosed snake was found and you brought it to the pool area to show everyone!). We still talk about what a cool job it would be to work for the Wye Marsh - you certainly made it look cool!

The nightly entertainment, the Miss Midland cruise, the Mackinaw, teddy bear and jewellery making, Dan the Music Man performance, beer tasting seminar all contributed to another outstanding summer vacation up at the Delawana Inn. We look forward to it all year long!

When people ask us about our summer, the Delawana Inn is always heralded as our Georgian Bay get-away. We absolutely adore the creaky floor boards and old photos in the main lodge, the wood and rock that appear everywhere, the wooden porch and sandy carpet in our room - yeah, it's THAT kind of vacation - and that's the way we like it!
